Maren Chewning – Staff
My name is Maren Chewning, I’m 16 years old, and I’m a junior at Cosumnes Oaks. I’m an only child, but I have family who live all over the country. I have been to New York, Hawaii, Colorado, and Nevada, and I plan to travel to places in Europe, Asia, and Africa. I enjoy photography, hanging out with friends, baking, playing volleyball, and making memories. Some of my favorite movies are 10 Things I Hate About You, Breakfast Club, Back to the Future, Lion King, and Disturbia. I don’t like to read much, but my favorite book is Perfect Chemistry. I listen to music every day, all day. I think clouds and stars are the most beautiful things. I can watch re-runs of One Tree Hill and Buffy the Vampire Slayer all day long, and I love reading National Geographic Magazines. I look up to my parents for support and advice, and they are the most amazing, fun, and strong people I know. I’m going to college after I graduate high school, I’m going to have a memorable life, and I’m going to leave this world feeling successful and happy.

What’s up I’m DJ Davis I’m 16 years old and I’m a junior at Cosumnes Oaks high school. I was born in New Jersey but moved to Texas right after, where I lived for about 10 years. I then moved to California with my older sister and younger brother and mom and dad where I have happily lived for about 6 years. I enjoy playing football, running track, lifting weights, and most other sports. In my spare time I like to listen to music, chill, and play video games while on my couch. Greetings fellow students and random strangers who wish to acquire further information about me, an apathetic, pessimistic, and opinionated teenager. I was born in San Jose and that is where I spent the first 16 years of my life, but as of summer 2009, Elk Grove is where I currently reside. In my free time, which accounts for about 80% percent of my day, I enjoy sleeping, eating, drinking, and other various activities. These various activities include an interest in photography, cars, and fashion. Since I was 10 years old. I start to play basketball I train myself everyday and it feels good inside. I always push myself in great position when I try my hardest. I practice every single day. On our Chinese New Years we always been busy getting ready for the big new years for Asian people who visit there own families on the second day. On the first day, we set out the firecrackers at 12 o’ Clock. And also we get a lot of red envelop with money on our 3 days celebration. On our final day we came to visit our Buddha Ceremony and see the lion dance there. I haven decided it yet for my 4 years in college.

Hey everyone my name is Sam Barker, I’m 15 years old, and I am a junior at Cosumnes Oaks. I am very interested in music, more specifically guitar, bass, singing, and my band. I also like to hang out with my friends. My favorite bands are the Beatles, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fall Out Boy, and Blink 182. After I get out of high school, I want to go join the 82nd airborne, a special forces branch of the military, get married, go to college, and be either a teacher or a CHP officer. It would be pretty cool to hit it big in the music industry though. My first column for the school newspaper was an opinion piece about the hat policy, and my most current article was an interview with one of the new teachers on campus, Ms. Rose. The next article I would like to write about would probably be about the conference to allow the election of gay people into the Christian pastorate.

The column I wrote for the current edition of the newspaper is about an ex-soldier being convicted of rape and murder. I am not sure what exactly I want to write about for my next column.
Christopher Guevarra – Staff
My name is Christopher Guevarra, I am 16 years old and a Junior at Cosumnes Oaks High School. My interests include art and photography. I am from the bay area. The first column I wrote for the school newspaper was about a school bombing. For the current edition of our school paper I am the photographer, and I would like to continue to be the photographer for our paper.

My name is Joseph Guidry III. I am 16 years old and a junior at Cosumnes Oaks High School. My interests include football and singing. My favorite football team is LSU. When I graduate high school, I want to get a degree in sports medicine. The first column I wrote for the school newspaper was about sports. The column I wrote for the current edition of our school is about movies that our coming out or came out in September. The next column I would like to write about would be a gossip column.

My name is Ahmad Malik. I am 16 years old and a junior at Cosumnes Oaks high school. My interests include football and money. My favorite thing to do is kick it. When I graduate high school, I want to go play college football. The first column I wrote for the school newspaper was about Cosumnes Oaks football. The column I wrote for the current edition or our school newspaper was about local news. The next column I would like to write will be about sports again.
Fallon Martin – Staff
My name is Fallon Martin. I am 16 years old. I was born on New Years Eve of 1992. I was born in South Bend, Indiana. I have lived in six different states in my 16 years of life. I have lived in Indiana, Kentucky, Colorado, Arkansas, Texas, and now California. The reason why I move so much is because my dad is in the Army. I have many interests. I enjoy playing basketball. I have been playing since I was 4 years old. It is my passion and I plan on going far with it. When I’m not playing basketball, I like to read, draw, and listen to music. My all-time favorite thing to do is travel. I like to learn about different cultures and see how people live in different places. My dad being in the military has made me a diverse and a well-rounded person. I enjoy meeting new people and talking to new people. Basically I am a typical teen. I just have probably done more things in my life than most and I am thankful for it.

My name is Andrea Nable. I am 16 years old and a Junior at Cosumnes Oaks High School. My interests include traveling, learning foreign languages, being with young kids and nature. My favorite food is Thai and Mexican. When I graduate high school, I want to take up humanities at college. I drew the comic strip for the first newspaper. The column I wrote for the current edition of our school newspaper is about a homeless girl going to Harvard. The next column I would like to write will be about something very interesting.

My name is Laura Ramirez. I am 16 years old and a Junior at Cosumnes Oaks High School. My interests include playing soccer and sleeping. My favorite animal is a turtle. When I graduate high school, I want to go to college and become a therapist. The first column I wrote for the sschool newspaper was the horoscopes. The column I wrote for the current edition of our school newspaper is an opinion piece on child abuse. The next column I would like to write will be about entertainment.

My name is Anthony Roman. I am 16 years old and a Junior at Cosumnes Oaks High School. I like to swim, read, and watch TV. My favorite sport is baseball. When I graduate high school, I want to become an architect. The first column I wrote for the school newspaper was about the new house the AD-UP classes are creating. The column I wrote for the current edition of our newspaper is about the Mayans prediction of the end of the world. I have no idea what I would like to write about for the next edition, but hopefully it will be interesting and controversial.

My favorite magazine is VIBE. When I graduate high school I plan on attending a four year university.
