Students should know about Swine Flu deaths all over world because the Swine Flu, also known as H1N1, is spreading all over the world and people everywhere are getting it and dying from it. Swine Flu is one of the scariest causes of death we have been threatened with in a long time.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimated the total number of deaths caused by H1N1, and they discovered that the instances of deaths are tripling everyday. ABC news stated that “We don’t really know how many cases of H1N1 there have been, truly,” said Dr. Len Horovitz, a pulmonary specialist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. The Swine flu has killed nearly 1,800 people throughout the world. Brazil has confirmed 557 deaths caused by H1N1 flu, the highest total in the world, and the total deaths in America has been 522. According to CNN news, the states of Sao Paulo has had 223 deaths (through) Wednesday, the largest number in the country. In addition, 480 pregnant women have been confirmed with H1N1, of whom 58 have died. Swine flu has mostly targetted young people and pregnant women. A new study published in the scientific journal,Lancet ,shows H1N1 deaths in Mexico shows that while the virus afflicts the young more often, it also seems to have killed a higher percentage of elderly patients there. Many schools in Sao Paulo have delayed the start of the second weekends to catch up. Some schools also have stopped extracurricular activities such as soccer, volleyball, and chess to try to stop the spread of the disease. H1N1 is not that dangerous, but it can be deadly if you don’t prevent it. To prevent this from happening to you all you have to do is:
1. Wash your hands.
2. Cover your cough
3. Don’t touch your face.
4. Stay away from people who are sick.
5. Remember to stay home while you are sick so other people don’t get the flu.
Swine Flu killing rates are increasing every day. To prevent getting Swine flu all you have to do is wash your hands, cover your coughs, and don’t touch your face. This information is important for the future generation because students and other people will learn how to live healthy. I learned that swine flu can de avoided if you habitually do the steps I’ve listed above.

When the whole swine flu epidemic came out I was really scared, because I had just been to Mexico and supposedly it originated there. I’ve never had the flu and I hope I never do. With the swine flu its like no one is invincible. Now, I always wash my hands a lot and keep sanitizer in my bag. Its cool how you gave us tips to stay safe. Kudos to you! i feel very informed now
